Quality of life

Nothing to do with the windows, but since I'm on a roll......
I've been into all 3 blocks now, and can't believe how dark, dingy and depressing the entrance lobby is in Grafton House compared to the other blocks. Basic interior design ideas would really help ie. light reflecting paint & decent lighting. Just walking in makes you inclined to commit hari-kiri. Luckily we're not samurai, Geordies (and adopted geordies) are used to putting up and shutting up.

My own bug bear is - who choses the colour schemes? Are they colour blind?
On my floor the walls are a particularly vile shade of vomit pink with the doors painted in burgundy red. Don't venture outside your front door if you are feeling queasy, or the neighbours will regret it.

the state of deco reflects the fact the ones who run YHN dont live in tower blocks, the first floor of grafton is painted up just for show, one of the worst excuse i heard why painted different from other floors is so the fire brigade in a fire would know they reach the bottom of stairs, yet the whole staiwell is mucky white, plus i credit the firemen with more sense as to reach the bottom of stairs anywhere tells you where you are, to yhn, its called ground level or floor. i dont need red doors in a passage off a stair well to tell me am at ground level, what i need is to have the block passages looking nice and not a patched up factory wall/ceiling it does at present with cable running everywhere, also these flats had a forty year lifespan, which by passed years ago.the revovation they are mucking up is like a badley stuck plaster over a huge gap. oops i am talking about the top flat in molinuex , the one with never ending crack, lets face it, we have a slum landlord in yhn as thats the way i feel, one bodge it and scarper job after another with them, they employ bob a job and we get bob a job, what a waste of taxpayers money this shower is. thats arms length mis-management organisation for you.they cant even put tiles back properly, and these people say trust them with the electrics not a cat in hells chance, to trust yhn is like building your own funeral pryer, think about it, they couldnt get the fire risk on the windows right after three years of fitting them should we trust them to employ proper electricans or will we get 12 month here and there trained scheme workers who havent a clue. this is my opinion i know others are feeling the same, i long for the days of council control as this shower aint worth the tissue
